What will you be doing?
- Assist senior site management to manage the Environmental and Quality systems, implementing the day to day requirements of the ERF and MPT.
- Manage on a day to day basis the delivery and reporting of the environmental monitoring programme with regard to Energy Recovery Facility, ensuring reports are produced as required under the PPC Permit
- Personally ensure that sampling and monitoring in accordance with the Environmental Permit, trade effluent and discharge consents are complied with
- manage compliance of the local Business Management System relating to hard and soft filing, distribution, communication and audit as appropriate, ensuring actions are closed within specified timescales
- maintain an overview of the ERF SHEQ performance, producing KPI's, monitoring trends and producing summary reports for Managers & Directors
- Liaison and management of third party contractors, as required, for the delivery of the environmental monitoring programme
- Liaison on a day to day basis with ERF Operational staff to ensure that the monitoring infrastructure is maintained in good order and that issues affecting environmental compliance are resolved promptly
What are we looking for?
- Understanding of regulations covering industrial processes, emissions, Industrial emissions directive, Environmental Permitting and waste management and Waste incineration regulations
- Logical and analytical approach to problem solving
- Positive, flexible approach to duties with ability to use initiative, solve problems and to work to tight deadlines under pressure
- Good interpersonal skills with persons at all levels
- Competence to advise on environmental compliance and delivery of improvements
- Willingness to work flexible hours and tasks as required by the position
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Intermediate level IT skills and excellent spreadsheet abilities
- Current driving licence
- Understanding of combustion
- Physically fit, capable of visiting various locations around the plant including multi level stairs
- Understanding the importance of health and safety within an industrial environment
Desirable:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical), science, or equivalent experience
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
- An understanding/familiarity of management/sharing of health, safety, and quality software (AVA/ECO-online)
