Falcon Timber, part of Consolidated Timber Holdings (CTH) Ltd, is a UK market leader supplying sustainable timber products to the construction, merchants and joinery markets across the UK and Ireland. This role is working for Falcon Speciality Timber dedicated to providing responsible timber solutions of 'non-commodity' timber products which are sourced to fulfil specific end uses. From our comprehensive landed stocks we offer high quality Timber; we are a focussed team with specialist knowledge of our trade sector and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers around the world.
What are my main areas of responsibility?
Your key purpose is to work closely with the Product Director for Falcon Speciality Timber, assuming responsibility for Engineered Joinery sales that will help deliver the annual budget, and your core duties will be:
- Write and own the strategy for your business area in collaboration with the Product Director, focusing on market sectors, product types and customer groups.
- Work with the Exec team to prepare budgets and forecasts for your product groups.
- Manage your range, agreeing the specifications and advising on pricing strategy
- Encourage, educate and work closely with the depot sales teams to upskill them in the technical specifications of your products and to attend joint visits to customers to follow up warm leads.
- Deliver commercial results across your product group from both existing and new customers and keep on top of emerging trends in the market.
- Develop and nurture new and existing suppliers in collaboration with Exec team and Procurement department, to deliver optimum commercial outcomes.
- Identify new products for business growth in the line with the CTH strategy.
- Your main KPI’s will be; Performance against budget – Sales, Stock, Margin, Profit and delivery of growth in line with CTH Group’s strategy on specific product groups.
What skills and experience do I need?
- Able to demonstrate success in a driving growth and revenue in a specialist timber sector.
- A depth of knowledge of Hardwood and/or Softwood joinery products
- Highly commercial approach and evidence of winning new business.
- Collaborative working style, able to establish good working relationships across the business.
- Good communications skills both internally and externally.
- A data driven approach with good analytical ability.
- Proficient in MS Office, MS Excel.
