We have a new and exciting opportunity for a People Risk Specialist to join our People Experience Team.

About the Role

As our next People Risk Specialist, you will support YBS in building an effective People Risk Culture where People Risks are managed and monitored within our risk appetite. This will involve you collaborating closely with key stakeholders across the organisation. Other role responsibilities include:

  • You will support with the management and embedding of organisational People Risk controls, ensuring action plans are created, monitored, and delivered and that risks are monitored and escalated where appropriate.
  • Perform Independent Control Testing by evaluating the effectiveness of the control environment through independent testing.
  • Be responsible for reviewing and managing approvals of the People Risk Policy annually, or earlier in the event of significant changes to, legal / regulatory requirements, related activities, and processes, or to the external environment within which the Society operates.
  • Support in building risk management capability across the organisation.
  • Co-ordinate and support the preparation of People Risk updates and papers for Executive and Group Risk Committees.
  • Manage, track and report on all actions arising from2LoD and 3Lod oversight reviews.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Understanding of Risk Management: you should have a good understanding of risk management concepts and control measures. Experience in people risk specifically is desirable but not essential.
  • Independent Control Testing: You should be capable of performing controls testing independently, including tests of design, implementation, and operating effectiveness.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Experience collaborating with stakeholders, including up to Senior Manager level, is important for effective collaboration and communication.
  • Flexibility and Multitasking: Ability to be flexible and manage multiple pieces of work in a fast-paced team, ensuring timely and effective completion of tasks.
